So you think you know your way around
South & West Dorset?
“The Bride Valley Discovery Challenge”
Once again, our annual motoring event will take place on Friday 25th May, so why
not join us for an interesting evening exploring the West Dorset countryside, with an
element of competition testing your problem-solving skills, and your local
knowledge? The route to follow will be about 30 miles.
It’s a little like a treasure hunt, but a tad more challenging in terms of finding your
way around. You’ll need to have Ordnance Survey Landranger maps 194
(Dorchester & Weymouth) and 193 (Taunton & Lyme Regis) and be able to plot grid
references and junction ‘tulip’ diagrams. But don’t worry we will give you notes and
tips how to do it and if you don’t have your own maps some copies of the relevant
parts will be available at the start.
The event will start at 6.45pm (prompt!) from the White Horse in Litton Cheney, with
a finishing time 9.15 pm back at the White Horse when there will be some nosh, and
a noggin and natter while we work out the results!
Cost will be £12.00 per person, including supper (but not the noggins!)
If you wish to join the fun, please contact Clive or Lois on 01308 482605, or by email
to clivecgedwards@gmail.com by Wednesday 16th May at the very latest please.
